Developed version 2.0/3.0 of 'Empower' Human Resources Intranet. Initial Business and Software Analysis of teamHR needs. Incorporates on-line employee performance review process where objectives are set and reviewed at 'Interim' and 'Final' review stages.Used in most divisions in AIB Group with 3000+ employees currently using system. Tools used were ASP and Stored Procedures on Sql Server 2000. Sole developer and support on project.
Ongoing development of MIS reports and upgrades to sections of system.
Developed associated Documentation system in 2004 using Sql Server XSLT to format Sql Server XML data. Queries returned all stored procedures, foreign keys, table column comments from Empower Sql Server database in XML which were formatted for web browser using XSL. Used by HR Support employees as tool to support Empower application.

Developed 'Empower' Human Resources Intranet version 1.0 for 'Leadership Through People Group' in AIB. Tools used were ASP,Com and Stored Procedures on Sql Server 7.0. Sole developer on project.
Intranet used by all staff and managers to enter staff profiles, assessments, role profiles, and training plans. Staff can view skill gaps and lifecycle of staff assessments are controlled and administered via Intranet. Liaised with Human Resources consultants to design and develop Intranet.

Contract Initially carried out Business and Software Analysis of Fexco International Payments Division customer website and backoffice software. Redeveloping 'International Payments' Extranet and Backoffice using ASP.Net and C#. Developed .Net Webservice to feed live rates to existing VB6 Extranet. Made extensive use of www.telerik ASP.NET UI components. Also used Sql Server Reporting Services. Development done in short iterative cycles using Agile XP development environment.System takes 'payment files' from clients 'Accounts Payable' departments and transfers monies to beneficiaries using cheques or telegraphic transfer. Clients get 'real time' foreign exchange rates at time of file upload. Funding of transactions and invoicing of client also carried out as part of 'Back Office' application. Uses MS SouceSafe source controlInvestigated use of NHibernate to design architecture to map OO Domain to sql server RDBMS for new phase of development. 1991 - 1994 Developed and programmed many financial management and data entry projects using Clarion 4GL for companies such as Western Union, Cashback and The Prize Bond Co. of Ireland. Later developed similar systems in Visual Basic using Access and Watcom client/server database. Designed and programmed in-store system for Harrods in London. Worked on application to manage Foreign Exchange transactions at off-site bureaus. Also gained experience in developing macros in MS Word Basic and Ole2 links to Excel 5

Developed Intranet Application for Ericsson Worldwide Training center using MS Active Server Pages connected to SQL Server 6.5/7.0 databases. All business functions transacted via web browser. Financial and management reports created using Crystal Reports on IIS Server calling stored procedures on SQL Server database. All reports viewed via web browser. Course booking, schedules etc. are administered via system. Ericsson companies throughout the world can purchase course places on-line using this system.
Also developed content management system using PHP template classes on Apache web server. This used a MySql database. Developed many other Intranet components such as on-line forums, guestbooks etc.
All sites above are Intranets so cannot be viewed outside Ericsson firewall. However a snapshot of Training Intranet is generated weekly and can be viewed at http://www.ericsson.ie/training/

Irishjobs website was redeveloped and relaunched in April 2000 with TV ad campaign. Designed and developed CV database using ASP web pages and SQL Server 7.0 database. Allows jobseekers to save their CV's to database and recruiters to search CVs using various keywords etc.
Also developed CV database for sister site at http://www.nijobs.com/ which used ASP pages with an MS Access database.

Redeveloped system used to track 'scrappage' on production lines to ensure system was fully compliant with FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) CFR Part 11 Regulations. Performed initial Business and Software Analysis and then developed using ASP.Net and Sql Server 2000. Any software system could be hosted on website and made CFR Part 11 compliant. All users authenticated via website before been given access to use software system. Full audit trail kept of all actions taken while using software etc.
Also developed Sql Server 2000 stored procedures used in reports generated by newly installed GE Fanuc MES(Manufacturing Execution Systems). Acted as Database admin for this system.

Software consultant with PMI software. I developed an Intranet site for PMI. Also developed Java applets using Symantec Cafe Pro. Linked applets to ODBC databases using JDBC-ODBC Bridge drivers. I worked on team which developed a Client-Server Application for Ericsson Training. This system was developed in VB3 and Access 2.0 and was later ported to VB 4.0 and SQLServer.
For the previous 4 months I was contracted to Kindle Banking Systems. I was part of the ‘BranchPower’ development team. This involved developing a Windows version of existing software used in ‘Bank Counters’ throughout the world. The systems uses VB3, Oracle, Btrieve and calls C++/Cobol dlls.

I developed and implemented a Multi-Currency Premium Collection / Treasury Management system. This system is accessed by over 50 users using software developed in Visual Basic and links to a Sybase database which stores all the enterprise data. All data access is done via Stored Procedures written in Transact Sql. All on-line reports are accessed via Crystal Reports 4. Extensive use is also made of the Truegrid Visual Basic ‘add-on’.
I also worked on alterations to a Broker Commissions system and have also developed a ‘back-end’ automated payments system and automated Direct Debit collections. Completed ‘Sybase Performance and Tuning’ course.
